I don’t normally cross-post from my Greyhart Press site, but on the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, I thought this reflection on veterans by author (and veteran himself) Bob Atkinson might interest you.
Poor Arun. After running for his life for much of Indigo Squad, Arun has it even harder in the new Human Legion book, Renegade Legion. Fighting for freedom is hard, but winning freedom is far more difficult, as Arun and his comrades are about to find out. The Human Legion Book3: Renegade Legion is published today in Kindle eBook and in paperback. Click here for the eBook and here for the paperback. If you enjoy this book, or one of the earlier ones, then do please leave a good review on Amazon or Goodreads. It does make a big difference to my ability to earn a living writing books. My sincere thanks to everyone who has left a review so far. Even if you thought the book stinks and told me so, I still appreciate you taking the time to read my […]
Releasing a new book in a series is like going all-in at poker: the bet has to pay off or the rest of the series is doomed to commercial failure. So I thought I’d share out some of the nail-biting with a progress update. A few minutes ago, I sent the final draft version of the Kindle book to Amazon. If you’re in the Recon Team, but haven’t finished the book yet, that’s fine. If you still have fixes and suggestions, I can add them later on, although from this point I’m going to have to argue much harder to convince myself to make changes. The Kindle edition is on pre-order until June 6th, which is D-Day for me as I will go into action with more promotion. If you’re thinking of ordering but haven’t made up your mind, get the pre-order now […]
Arun McEwan had a tough time in the first two Human Legion books. Well, guess what? Now he’s in charge, and it’s going to get a whole lot tougher in Renegade Legion. You can pre-order the Kindle edition now by following this link, for delivery by Whispersync on the publication date of June 6th. You won’t have to wait quite that long, though. I know some of you are eager to read on, so I’ll make you an offer: if you buy the Kindle book on pre-release, but want the book before June 6th, then let me know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. As soon as I have the release version of the Kindle book ready, I’ll email it to you. You don’t need to prove you bought the book, I’ll take it on trust. I need to give Amazon the final version of the […]
update… GONE cheap. Unfortunately, these books went up to full price within hours of me posting this. I did enjoy the Lost Fleet books I’ve read before, but didn’t feel they were special enough to justify the much higher price than that charged by self-published authors. I guess the sale worked for the publisher. Big time! Just take a look in the screen cap below at the clean sweep the series is making of the charts right now. I wonder how sustainable that is at the higher price. Good luck to them, anyway. The Lost Fleet is a very popular space fleet series. Even here in Bedford, England, the science fiction shelves in the book stores, and the library where I do much of my writing, are filled with these books. I’ve read some and think there very good with what […]
Thanks to the detail built up from the Recon Team’s reports, the new book is shaping up very nicely now. I’m honored that so many are helping out. Thank you. I’m going to be setting the book out on pre-release from Amazon very soon. There are still many spinning variables to set a date yet, but it will definitely be this month. If you are in the Recon Team and haven’t yet passed any feedback, then there’s no need to rush or feel your input would be wasted. The earliest I would be building a version for publication would be late next week (let’s say the 21st). And even if you have comments to pass on after that date, I can still make revisions to the published edition soon after. And if life got in the way, or you didn’t enjoy […]
I’m loving all the debates kicking around the Human Legion website right now. It’s really exciting to see. However, you won’t see me contribute until the start of next week, or reply to emailed Recon Team reports, because I have my own recon mission to perform. Together with a select group of like-minded colleagues, I shall be entering the town of Burton-on-Trent on a three-day mission to assess whether they still know how to brew and serve a decent pint of beer. Here’s a potted history of Burton, if you’re unfamiliar with this great international centre of culture http://beer-trotter.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/on-trail-of-pale-ale-in-burton-on-trent.html Alternatively, here’s a picture. I’m sure you get the idea.
