Revenge Squad cover reveal

Okay, you’ve seen this image of NJ McCall before, but here he is with his final cover text (click or tap on the main image for a full-length view). He doesn’t look very happy, and if you read the book, you’ll understand why. Don’t worry, though, after the scene captured in this image things get better for NJ (before they get much, much worse…). In the course of delivering entertainment thrills, this book treads on some potentially treacherous ground that I want to get right: corruption, racism, combat veterans finding it tough to adjust to civilian life, and extreme farming to mention just a few. So I’m hoping you will help me out and read through the beta version which should be ready in a couple months. In the Legionary Bulletin, I’ll be giving download links to the beta for anyone who […]

Announcing the Human Legion Wiki

Today I’m very proud to announce the Human Legion Wiki is officially open. No doubt you’ve seen Wikipedia, but you might not be aware that there are tens of thousands of other sites based on the same Wikia platform. In a blurring between real life and the worlds of the Human Legion five centuries hence, the Legion Infopedia is now available for you to explore in the present day. Not only that, but you can go and contribute yourself. My thanks go out to the Legionaries who traveled time to construct our Human Legion wiki. These brave individuals are known only by their codenames: Homo Helveticus, and Porkchop NCR. Take a look, enjoy, tell me what you think is missing, and report back in the comments. To navigate to the Wiki, you can click on the image to the left or […]

LaveCon 2015 report

Downton Abbey. In the past few years, whenever I make new friends in America, and they realize that I’m English, they will often say: ‘Hey, I love Downton Abbey.’.  Of course, we all realize the world of Downton Abbey faded away long before I was born, but you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise if you had seen me last Saturday morning as I drove in my open top roadster through rolling green countryside, under perfect blue skies, on my way to… a country mansion: Sedgebrook Hall. The country mansions of the upper classes that used to be dotted throughout England still exist, except they’re now mostly training centers and hotels. Last weekend, Sedgebrook Hall was home to one wedding party, perfectly manicured grounds filled with rabbits, and nearly two hundred sci fi nerds. This was Lavecon 2015. I’ve been to […]

A space opera book launch… with Lego!

I am proud and excited to announce that Indigo Squad, the second book in the Human Legion series, is working its way through Amazon’s servers to be available from the Kindle Store within the next 12 hours. It will initially be available as a Kindle book, with a paperback to follow a few days later. The initial price will be 99 cents, or the equivalent in local currency, and I will keep it there for at least a week before raising the price. My intention is to follow this pattern with the other books, to give humanlegion.com subscribers the chance to get each new book at the bargain price. My son is very excited. He’s been spending Christmas vacation dreaming up Lego constructions, and to help me celebrate the launch of Indigo Squad he’s recreated a scene from the book in Lego. He’s built a […]
