Endless Night has fallen*

“All hands, this is the captain. Battle stations! Battle stations! Midnight Sun will execute Plan Mechanix. I repeat, Plan Mechanix. May the gods have mercy upon our enemy’s souls and make our yacks bloat with combat bonuses.” This year, a popular alternative and complement to Valentine’s Day is Endless Night Day, with the release of my latest novel. The quote from the book at the top of this post pretty much sums the book up. For the price of admission (which is free under Kindle Unlimited, BTW) you get ancient artifacts, shady dealings, high-gee boardings, hidden underwater cities, and the reincarnation of a real ancestor of mine who went by the name of Obadiah Jex. I hope y’all like it. […]

My orcs rise from the ashes of a post-apoc anthology

In case you missed it, my latest anthology came out last week in From the Ashes, the latest anthology from Bayonet Books. The theme for this anthology is the post-apocalypse and my story features orcs, humans and Chinese vampire deer in the ruins of Bedfordshire. I haven’t read all the other tales yet, but I read Walt Robillard’s story and its full-on action that also features orcs and humans. But the orcs in Walt’s case are three meters tall and wield sharpened road signs as axes. Nice. (Walt’s the voice talent on the Human Empire audio, BTW, which is very close to completion now). I’ve been in three of the four Bayonet Books anthologies to come out over the past […]

Chimera Company: Deep Cover is out now

The second season of Chimera Company launched last night. In Chimera Company: Deep Cover the team needs to stop running and turn and fight against the evils swirling about Far Reach Federation. There are nine issues, with a new one releasing every Tuesday, to be followed by a boxed set and paperback collection. If you’re a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, then it’s your lucky day because you can read them all for free. If not, well they’re priced at 99c/p/e per issue for most regions. If you haven’t read Season 1: Rho-Torkis, then you can go back and read it now, or join in the weekly thrills right here with Season 2. Here are a few of the things I’ve got […]

Will anyone get off Rho-Torkis alive?

Chimera Company faces impossible odds in the burning city of Bresca-Brevae. Will anyone make it through? Well… I guess the fact that I’m about to finish writing Season 2 over the next few days kind of gives the game away. But not everyone makes it through Season 1. You have to keep reading through to Issue #8 to find out, and that’s the issue that came out today. I’ve loved doing these weekly serials. There’s more coming soon (late summer), but it’s not quite over yet for this current burst of everything Chimera Company. If you’ve joined the Legion, then I’ll be doing an end of season round of Legion Bulletins with background details on the Muryani Expansion that drops […]

Chimera Company is in print

“Chimera Company is the weekly sci-fi serial that won’t put your current read on hold. “ As you can see, it’s now got it’s own tagline, but with Issue #5 dropping earlier this week, where are we with Chimera Company? Well, not too brilliant so far, to be honest. I’m very grateful for those who had bought or Kindle Unlimited borrowed the issues, and even more grateful to those who had reviewed them. However, sales are very modest and reviews on Amazon almost non-existent. So it’s a fragile start, but it’s early days and sales are gradually building. An unexpected Chimera development is that, due to a legal complication involving the audiobook (which I’ll explain over a beer for anyone […]

Chimera Company launch issue

The latest chapter in the Human Legion Universe story is now live with the launch issue of Chimera Company available from Amazon. It’s a full-throttle science fiction adventure serial told in weekly episodes that will take roughly 60-90 minutes to read. And for those who would rather enjoy the story all in one go, there’s a season boxed set and audiobook on the way in the coming weeks. You can find out more on the Chimera Company page. Or watch the video. Or just go ahead and buy (or borrow for free in Kindle Unlimited) the first issue from the following Kindle Stores USA | UK | CA | AUS (and elsewhere by going to the USA site first). If […]

The fix for Mount TBR

I made a video to explain in 31 seconds why Chimera Company’s weekly episodes are the solution to a To Be Read pile threatening to become Mount Doom. Of course, not everyone has a problem with this, which is why Chimera Company is also available as a boxed set. I had great fun making it. Hope you enjoy it too. Liking and sharing is always very helpful, thanks. The latest skinny on Chimera Company (including the free prequel download) is always here: https://humanlegion.com/books/chimera-company/ Tim.

Chimera Company is go…

My Star Wars-meets-2000AD weekly space opera serial is now available for pre-order* with the launch issue dropping April 30th. You can grab a look now* at this link. Scroll down at the Amazon book page and you’ll see an interview with me talking about the series. This is my first major new launch for a couple of years and I’m totally excited for Season 1, although I have to say at the moment, Season 2 is shaping up to be even better. I’ve been busy on other fronts too: we’re making progress on audio production for Human Legion and Chimera Company, I’ve pitched a book trilogy set in a popular science fiction franchise, and outlined my first post-apocalyptic story for […]

The first Chimera Company story is out now, published by someone else!

I’m very proud to announce that I have a novelette in a military science fiction anthology that was released yesterday, and better still, it’s a standalone Chimera Company story. Backblast Area Clear was put together by no less than JR Handley and features stories from Richard Fox, MD Cooper, CJ Carella, JR Castle, Scott Moon, Josh Hayes, JR Handley, Chris Winder, Rick Partlow, Navin Weeraratne, and Logan Scott. With artwork from Jamie Glover, and Ellen Campbell pulling the editing levers. I haven’t read the other stories yet, but the pedigree is top notch and I’ll be doing so on the flight over to Canada tomorrow to see my brother get married. I’m going to be very quiet for a week […]

JR Handley soars while Chimera Company gears up

Breach Team breaches the top-100! I was so pleased last night to see Human Legion Universe alumnus, JR Handley, has broken into the top-100 science fiction bestsellers on amazon.com with a standalone novel collaboration with Chris Winder called Breach Team. Unfortunately, by the time I got around to typing this, the book’s slipped out again. That’s the way it goes, sometimes. Let’s hope it peaks once more. I’m about two-thirds through reading it myself and enjoying it very much. If you liked JR’s Sleeping Legion novels then you will like Breach Team. Reminds me of Demons of Kor-Lir. So, well done to Chris, but especially to JR because we know him so well from his Human Legion Universe stories. I’m […]
