Renegade Legion Mobilization Update

Releasing a new book in a series is like going all-in at poker: the bet has to pay off or the rest of the series is doomed to commercial failure. So I thought I’d share out some of the nail-biting with a progress update. A few minutes ago, I sent the final draft version of the Kindle book to Amazon. If you’re in the Recon Team, but haven’t finished the book yet, that’s fine. If you still have fixes and suggestions, I can add them later on, although from this point I’m going to have to argue much harder to convince myself to make changes. The Kindle edition is on pre-order until June 6th, which is D-Day for me as I will go […]

Renegade Legion: available to pre-order now

Arun McEwan had a tough time in the first two Human Legion books. Well, guess what? Now he’s in charge, and it’s going to get a whole lot tougher in Renegade Legion. You can pre-order the Kindle edition now by following this link, for delivery by Whispersync on the publication date of June 6th. You won’t have to wait quite that long, though. I know some of you are eager to read on, so I’ll make you an offer: if you buy the Kindle book on pre-release, but want the book before June 6th, then let me know by emailing humanlegionbooks@gmail.com.  As soon as  I have the release version of the Kindle book ready, I’ll email it to you. You don’t need […]

Jack Campbell’s Lost Fleet — going cheap… Gone :-(

update… GONE cheap. Unfortunately, these books went up to full price within hours of me posting this. I did enjoy the Lost Fleet books I’ve read before, but didn’t feel  they were special enough to justify the much higher price than that charged by self-published authors. I guess the sale worked for the publisher. Big time! Just take a look in the screen cap below at the clean sweep the series is making of the charts right now. I wonder how sustainable that is at the higher price. Good luck to them, anyway.    The Lost Fleet is a very popular space fleet series. Even here in Bedford, England, the science fiction shelves in the book stores, and the library […]

Star Crusades: Nexus on special offer

As part of my if-I-see-a-book-on-special-offer-I-might-mention-it posts, ‘Star Crusades Nexus: The First Trilogy’ by Michael G. Thomas is currently going for 99c/99p on Amazon Kindle. Here’s the US link and here’s the UK one. I’ve just picked up a copy myself having enjoyed the first series, which I found to be good, stripped down, basic military SF adventure stories. Just what I was looking for at the time. I’m guessing this price drop is temporary, but I don’t know as it’s nothing to do with me. I hope this helps Mr. Thomas to win new fans. I’ve got a new book coming out soon of my own. Not sure whether I’ve mentioned it yet 🙂  Here’s another sneak peak. You might […]

Star Crusades by Michael G. Thomas is on special offer

I posted earlier today that I’d share if I came across a new release or special offer that I thought might be of interest. I don’t intend to do this regularly, but here’s the second of today, so what do I know? Michael G. Thomas has written plenty of space opera and military science fiction novels and seems very popular. I’ve never read him, but when I noticed today that he’s offering a bundle of the first three Star Crusades novels for 99 cents, I bought them. This isn’t a recommendation as such (but only because I’ve yet to read any of his books) but you might want to try him out if he’s new to you too. If you […]
