I’ve wanted to use this image for a while. I like the sense of scale suggested by the natural features and the cityscape. The figure is too small, though, to get the sense of scale AND make it work on a book cover. I think it looks great on my front page, with the negative space sitting perfectly in front of the soldier. I’ve used Algol’s stock art several times, and so have other authors! If you look closely at the soldier, it is the same figure who was on the front cover of the original self-published version of Terms of Enlistment by Marko Kloos.
