A Slight Change of Circumstances

When Stillo met Cleo. Read it now…
January 8, 2025Christmas is coming and… so is Revenge Squad. Actually, more Time Dogz too, but we’ll get to that in a moment.
Revenge Squad is the Human Legion spin-off I wrote 2016/17 in which the main character is a veteran of the Legion struggling to adjust to civilian life and winding up in Revenge Squad, a professional retribution service.
Why am I mentioning this now?
The main two Revenge Squad novels are currently in a book bundle at Fanatical, which is new for me because Fanatical (formerly Bundle Stars) is best known for selling bundles of (legitimate) Steam game keys.
We’ve got 20 novels and short story anthologies from a bunch of Hugo and Nebula award winners. There’s a New York Times bestseller too. And there’s David Brin who’s my favourite writer and I was fortunate to meet a few years ago. Jeff Noon too.
Ten years ago, I was working for Jeff, producing ebook editions of his work. Nice guy. Smart guy too. I last saw him when he signed my copy at the launch of the 20th-anniversary edition of his novel Vurt. Now I’ve novels of my own in a bundle with the 30th-anniversary edition of Vurt. How time flies. And in circular fashion.
Pop over to Fantatical if you’re interested. https://www.fanatical.com/en/pick-and-mix/build-your-own-fantasy-and-future-tales-ii-bundle

Did you get ’em? Yeah. Great stuff.
Okay, now back to Time Dogz.
Over the holiday season, once my Christmas pudding has settled and I’ve had a couple of sherries, then I’m going to put on my Santa hat for a late Christmas present for Legion readers: The first section of Time Dogz: Year of the Ox.
The part I’m writing is deep in the Bronze Age, where we learn how the Ox got her name. But the first bit is set in Egypt in the reign of Cleopatra the Seventh. A cross between Gladiator and Carry on Cleo.
That’s a lot of fun. Also in the fun category, I’ve just worked a 7-month contract. Lots of coding and testing. Very satisfying. I’m unemployed as of this afternoon, so I’ve got plenty more time to play around with book stuff for a while. Hopefully, I’ll get Year of the Ox finished off early in the New Year.
Have a great Christmas and see you in the New Year.
Tim
