Standing Defiant on Foreign Shores

I have a new story out! Last week saw the latest anthology release in the excellent 50-years-after-the-fall series, The Last Brigade. I wrote a novelette called The Sussex Job in an earlier anthology, in which there’s a prison break from Colchester Castle. In my latest novelette, we go back in time, closer to the Collapse. Here I tell the tale of how Colchester got to be in such a ruinous state in The Sussex Job. The title of the new story says it all, really. It’s called The Siege of Colchester. Revenge Squad Returns

Christmas is coming and… so is Revenge Squad. Actually, more Time Dogz too, but we’ll get to that in a moment. Revenge Squad is the Human Legion spin-off I wrote 2016/17 in which the main character is a veteran of the Legion struggling to adjust to civilian life and winding up in Revenge Squad, a professional retribution service. Why am I mentioning this now? A Slight Change of Circumstances

If you haven’t read the Legion Bulletin, here’s some important news for you. Sales were middling when I launched the Time Dogz series in April. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough. I needed them to be good to keep going as a full-time author. So I retrained, hoping to find a job in the software industry. I’m still writing. Just at a slower rate of words per week. In fact, in some ways I’m enjoying my writing more, because it’s no longer carrying the treacherous burden of having to pay the bills. TimeDogz Infiltrate Kindle Store

The Past Sucks launches in Kindle today. Tomorrow is the Kindle launch of And So Does the Future. Saturday sees Time Travel in Rock: 1984. Other than Naked in the Black (which you can download when you join the Legion), I’m afraid that’s your lot for the moment until I write some more. I hope you’ve had a good one, and I want to thank all my readers for your support over 2023 and all the years I’ve been doing this (I’m about to hit 13 years since I went full time).
