  1. I’m hooked, the first two human legion books were great, can’t put down page turners. Please notify me when book three is available on Amazon.com.
Does Tom have other sifi books available on Amazon.com, if so what are the titles? I like the long books, it’s rare to for me to find a novel that 700 plus pages, most are in the 200 to 300 page length. It’s seems to me that when an author puts out a long book, like 700 pages you get a bonus, in author has a great story to tell and your not having to buy 4 books to get to read the great story. I do have a few books that the author had a good first book, got me interested, then I ended up buying 12 books so far, the story just continues, and that’s all bad, in fact I enjoy a good series, but the last few books were really short, a lot of repeat information. The author promised more books, just keeping series going really, but I don’t know if I’ll buy them, feel like I was cheated with the last several books. I understand that he needs to make a living, and that fine, but I think I’ll have to wait and see some reviews and length of the book before I purchase them. Nothing wrong with short stories, if that’s what you think your buying.

Hi Scott. I’m stoked to hear you’re hooked :-). There’s a definite wrap to the sixth book in the Human Legion series. And they are all sketched out with some key scenes written in each. So I guess the writing of the series is a little like the Harry Potter books in that respect, although I don’t look anything like JKRowling! If the series is successful I’ve ideas for parallel, prequel and sequel series, but they will be separate rather than tacked onto the end.

I did write a couple of books called the Reality War, which are available on Amazon.com. They are time travel rather than military sci fi. And they are less action oriented, but the first one was free last I looked, so might be worth a look! I saw them as one huge book, but my agent at the time persuaded me to split into two (it was being touted around Harper Collins at the time).

      Thanks for commenting

Marine Cadet (The Human Legion Book 1)
    Tim C Taylor

I didn’t get halfway thru the first chapter before I was hooked and on an adventure like no other I have ever taken.

Mr. Tim C Taylor has a way of writing that flows smoothly and seamless. Then every so often he places a bomb. He places them with the expertise of a seasoned author, which just sinks the hook deeper. He has a great since of timing, you never know when you will be laughing or cringing, you will be reading alone in the middle of a shoot out and he throws in something so funny and not expected that it makes you love the adventure even more. Or he can go in the opposite direction and the story will have the characters setting around just talking with their team and BOOM something really horrific happens and Mr. Taylor doesn’t skip a beat it is seamless…smooth.

He has taken the proud Marines, twisted and re-modeled them into a futuristic Branch for the conquering allies, that rule earth. They breed the human race into super Marines (fighting machines). What a concept…what a story.

The pace is fast and moves at a good click. Which is in my opinion is good because I couldn’t get enough of it. I enjoyed the way Mr. Taylor has put a great balance of war/fighting and personal insight into the characters and showed the camaraderie of the Marines themselves. It takes place around the year 2566 and we see what Earth has turned into. It is all orchestrated into this action packed science fiction series.

You can’t go wrong picking this book up for a read and if you get hooked, like I did, I hear Book 2, Indigo Squad (The Human Legion Book 2) is now out. I for one, am very glad this is an ongoing series, I’m enjoying the adventure. You can also join the Human Legion on-line and get updates and communications from and for the Indigo Squad. You get the the inside scoop.

Thank you Mr Taylor for another great adventure that is just starting and giving me the time of my life in space.

  3. Britt Carter says:

Mr. Taylor, I am hooked! Its been a while since I found a series that I could not put down. You had me wanting to know what happened next at the end of every chapter. In the time span of a few days i have read the First and second book and found myself transported to another time and place. In the beginning I found myself under the yoke of an unyeilding Supreme race, Plasma fodder and nothing more. My only purpose was to train and die. By the end off the first book I was able to celebrate small victories. By the end of the second book I had hope, not just for myself but all Humans. That is what good books should do.

Thank you for an excellent series.

  4. SGT Mike says:

Only thing the Legion needs is a war cry!!! Why not “FOR FREEDOM”, as its a central theme?

  5. SGT Mike says:

Does Arun remember to factor in all of his assets? The cryo marines, the Trog, the Aux humans yearning for redemption? And what about the non hackers, can’t they play a role too? A squad of these types trying to prove their worth, much like the bomber squadron ‘The Leaper Colony’ in WWII?

  6. SGT Mike says:

That is good to know, since you so beautifully set up the potential of a Trog army for him!!!

  7. Steve says:

I don’t get why Arun’s rebel faction is better than how brothers. What have I missed?

    • Steve says:

      …better than his brothers.

    • timctaylor says:

=== SPOILER ALERT : DON’T READ THIS UNLESS YOU’VE REACHED AT LEAST PART 2 OF INDIGO SQUAD ===

      Hi Steve,
In terms of the sides, Fraser’s picking the side that’s offering scraps of recognition and position for humans. He’s hoping that will be just enough to keep our species alive until we’re more strongly established. Arun wants more: he wants to fight for true freedom, but hasn’t such a clear idea yet on how he will achieve that. Not yet. If he could, Arun would consider keeping his head down and playing along while he bides his time. He doesn’t have that option, though, because too many things were said and done in Detroit and on Antilles that drew attention to him. That’s why the other faction keep such a close eye on Arun, close enough for Indiya to notice. They don’t like the idea of a rival faction and Arun is their route into uncovering it.

Arun and his brother aren’t really so very different, but find themselves on opposite sides. Although Fraser and Arun are twins, they spent many years in cryogenic pods. Fraser’s been awake for more years and seen and done more. That’s made him more ruthless. Maybe that’s how Arun will become if he survives long enough…

  8. James Garry says:

Just finished the second book. Thanks now get the third book out there! I enjoyed reading both books. Thanks for writing them.

    • timctaylor says:

That’s great to hear, James. I’m frustrated because I’ve had to take two days off writing the third book because I’ve not been well. I promise to be back to writing tomorrow 🙂

  9. Sam says:

Any idea when the 3rd installment will be upon us?

  10. timctaylor says:

Hi, Sam. April or May. The first, and largest, part will be out in beta for anyone who wants to look at in next month. Thanks for asking.

  11. Jason says:

Tim excellent work. I have not been this enthralled with a series since Jon Ringo and David Webber teamed up on the March Up Country series.

I can’t wait to see Arun find his ability to truly lead.

Thanks again for transporting me to your universe. I can’t wait to be able to visit it again soon.

    Jason

  12. Avid SciFi reader and always looking for a new read. Thoroughly enjoying these books and anxiously awaiting the next one. Going on holiday mid-may and hope you are on schedule so I can take you with me. Err…….I mean take your BOOK with me. You stay home and keep WRITING! Lots of us out here waiting for more. Probably time to stop giving it away. You deserve huge success.

    • timctaylor says:

Thanks, Tim. I’m right with you. I’m going away on vacation mid-May myself. I’m hoping to have it done and out by then. I should know if I’ll make it by the end of the month. The book’s going to be longer than I planned, which is a good thing, because there’s a lot going on to write about. But of course, it will take a little more time.
I hope it will be, but even if the main book isn’t out by the time of our vacation (I don’t mean I’m going on vacation with you!) I’m writing some short stories in the evenings that connect the events of book2 and book3. Some of them feature characters that don’t normally take center stage — such as Caccamo and Dock — which is fun to write. They’ll be up on the website when I finish them off.
Thanks for your support. It means a great deal to me, and keeps my writing fingers eager.

  13. Kathleen Fischer says:

I too am totally hooked and wish I wouldn’t have found this series until it was complete! I read book 2 in two days which is unusual for me. Awesome series!!! I can’t wait for the rest!!

  14. Joe Spahr says:

Tim, I got tired of waiting and have started a re-read. I’m not going to suggest anything, your mind is fertile enough. For a bit of perspective, my first Sci-Fi read was Beast Master in 1958. You tell a good story. Keep it up.

    • timctaylor says:

Thanks Joe, I appreciate your comments. I remember enjoying a copy of Beast Master in my local library in the early 80s, but I couldn’t find any of the sequels at the time. Maybe it’s out on Kindle these days. I reckon my son would love it.

  15. JoeSpahr says:

Sure is. Check out Andre Norton in classic bundles all three are together.
    Joe

  16. joespahr says:

Oops No longer $0.00 now $7.99 for the Beast Master Omnibus

    • timctaylor says:

I just don’t understand. I can’t find it. I can only think it’s because Amazon knows I’m logged in from outside the US. I did pick up some other classic Andre novels on Kindle. I’ll try them on my son. Think he’s ready for them now. Thanks for your help 🙂

  17. Joe Spahr says:

Tim, I hope he enjoys them. Don’t forget RAH or even Edmund Hamilton. So much good stuff as this old man remembers his early journeys into the wonders of our universe.
    Joe

  18. Benjamin says:

Hi Tim, just wanted to confirm that you’ve only written books 1-3 so far? That’s all I see on Amazon at this point… any idea when the other 3 will be available?

    I’m hooked obviously 🙂

    • Hi Benjamin, hooked is good 🙂 I’m deep into writing the fourth book now. In fact, I wrote the final scene this week, although there are many gaps still to fill. Bottom line: we’re targeting a release for mid-September. The writing is more linear than book3, so there’s a good chance I’ll put up the first sections for humanlegion.com followers. Thanks for letting me know you’re enjoying the books. Tim

  19. Benjamin Sacks says:

Excellent news! thanks for the reply. I’ve just started book 3 so will be eagerly awaiting book 4 🙂

  20. Sam says:

If you need anyone to read it just to check over it 🙂 …..

  21. Ande says:

I love the books. Got hooked. Can’t wait for “Human Empire.” Thanks!

  22. SGT MIKE says:

How many books have sold so far?

    • Tim Taylor says:

Hi Mike. I’ve got WiFi on my phone at a climbing center on our campsite, which is pretty cool 😎 I don’t climb myself but my son loves it. Can’t access figures easily here, but human legion has sold about 56 thousand so far.

  23. Is it possible to pre-order Book5: War Against the White Knights. Due Jan 2016 on Amazon.

    • Hi Akinsola, thanks for asking, but I’m sorry to say I don’t believe we’re going make a January release now. We had some delays last month. I don’t want to set a pre-order date with Amazon until I’m confident of a date we can make. We’d written the first section by early October, so this is very disappointing. In the past I’ve sometimes put previews of the early part of the book available for readers on this site. Would you be interested in reading the first section to help fill the gap, or would you rather wait? I know some people are adamant they prefer one over the other. Best wishes, Tim.

  24. What happens to Saraswati, Springers AI, after the Human Legion Marine Corps throws her out on her bum? I always liked that AI, she was cheeky!!

  25. Al (Alan) Brown says:

Hmmm, I have just finished and done a quick review if WAR AGAINST THE WHITE KNIGHTS (5 stars most excellent story), from reading this, it is apparent that springers now a “freshly minted” Wolf so perhaps the pair could be reunited, Saraswati is a recon AI so would be an obvious asset to them, who knows?, I hope so, Mr Taylor you are a master storyteller and I can’t wait for your next book. Thanks Al Brown.

    • tctaylor says:

Thanks, Al. I’ve been too ill to work for a few days, so it’s been a delight to come back and read your kind words. Yes, indeed, Springer has something of a new lease on life and she has an important part to play, as do her children. I haven’t forgotten Saraswati either, although I haven’t entirely firmed up where she fits in. Just to keep you guessing, some of what I’ve just mentioned gets most prominence in ‘Human Dynasty’ which will be a series set some time after the events of the Human Legion books, which will mostly pass the baton on to a new generation but some of the older characters will still be around. I originally planned to go straight from Human Legion into Human Dynasty but I’ve changed direction a little into starting off Revenge Squad first. So, Human Dynasty will be 2018, or possibly 2019. I have a such a lot of books I want to write! As for my next book, I’m taking a short break from the Human Legion to kick off Revenge Squad and I’m putting the final touches to the beta version of the first Revenge Squad book today. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks again, Al. Best. Tim.

  26. Marten Ekema says:

    Hi Tim,
As a disabled ex-serviceman I have plenty of time to lay around and have read ALL your books since the first Human Legion “Marine Cadet” came out, what was it three years ago. I’m hooked on the new Revenge Squad series. After reading the recon edition with NJ, his “Wife” and plug-in comrades I went to Amazon and bought the Kindle edition, Can you tell me please when the next book in the series is due out to buy or a recon edition available.
    Thank You
    Marten

    • tctaylor says:

Thank you, Marten. It’s vital for my morale to know I’m delivering the goods for some readers. The Revenge Squad series starts with ‘After War’, and then proceeds to ‘Hurt U Back’. The second book is currently available on Kindle only for people who have signed up to join the Legion, which you can do here: https://humanlegion.com/join-the-legion/ It’s free, painless, leaves you in possession of your own soul, and delivers download links to Hurt UI Back, amongst others. If you get any difficulties with download links then just let me know and I’ll help you out. If you’re in the Legion then you will receive email editions of The Legion Bulletin, which includes flash fiction told by NJ McCall. The third Revenge Squad book is called ‘Second Strike’ and I hope to finish a rough first draft this week. I’m hoping a recon edition will be forthcoming during April, but that does depend on what my editor says. The fourth book is ‘Blood Feeder’, which is sketched out, but before I get into that novel, I’ll deliver the final Human Legion novel and (very probably) a Human Legion prequel novella to be called, with enormous imagination, ‘Marine Novice’, which will feature a young Arun McEwan and Springer.
