The website has been quiet of late because the (virtual) builders have been in rewiring and extending and took a little longer than I expected, but there’s plenty to talk about now that it’s back up and running properly.
First of all: audio!
Tantor Media published audio editions of the first three Legion novels earlier this year, and very fine they are too. Initially they were available as MP3 downloads and CDs from Tantor.com, Audible.com and Amazon, although the CD versions were shipped from the US, so pricey if you lived elsewhere. But in recent weeks, they’ve snuck into the Amazon store as ‘Whispersync for Voice’ editions. What this means is that if you already have the Kindle version, you can add on Tantor’s audio edition for a few dollars. Here in the UK, the audio add-on costs £2.99. I’m not sure which other Amazon stores are running Whispersync for Voice.
Listening to quality audiobooks on the daily commute is one of the wonders of modern society, and when the books cost just a few bucks, then it’s a sign that the future can get better. Sometimes!
Alternatively, sign up to the Legion by May 15th and you’ll be in for a chance to win a signed copy of one of first three Human Legion novels on audio CD. The winner gets to choose which audiobook I send them.
You’ll need to sign up to a new list I’m calling the Legionaries. People on that list will receive copies of the Legion Bulletin, which will have news about forthcoming books, special offers, Recon Team sign ups, chances to get your name in a forthcoming book! and all sorts of goodness when I think of them or you tell me to do them. I’ll be issuing the Legion Bulletin when I have something important to say, which I reckon will average monthly. This is an email mailing list, and as you would expect, you can unsubscribe at any time (without one of those ‘why are you leaving me’ messages), and I won’t share or reuse your name for anything else.
Which is why if you subscribed previously to get notifications of humanlegion.com website posts, I haven’t automatically added you to the Legionaries mailing list. You’ll have to do that yourself and there’s a link at the end of this post to do just that.
Just to whet your appetite, I have a novella planned for later in the year that will initially be available only to Legionaries, plus other bonus material planned too. There are two new series coming this year, and Legionaries will have exclusive previews and Recon Team sign up priority. I’ll be exploring how to make use of this new facility as we go, but essentially it comes down to a new way to have fun, get involved, and get informed.
In addition to signing up to the Legionaries, there is also a way to sign up to receive notification of new blog posts. If you have already signed up to the website, then you should still get email notifications from WordPress as before. You don’t have to do anything. If you haven’t signed up to receive notification of new posts, then you can do so from the link below and receive the updates from me. If you are getting update notifications from both me and WordPress, then you’re essentially getting the same information twice and I suggest you unsubscribe from one. Finally, if you previously followed the website through your WordPress.com account, then you will no longer receive updates (because the website has moved from WordPress.com to WordPress.org), but you can subscribe for updates at the link below.
Now go sign up for the Legion here… 🙂

Hi, Tim!
I’m a huge fan and I’m sure you’ve answered this question a million times but I cannot seem to find it.
My question is, are theee any plans to release the last three Human Legion books on audiobook?
I hope this post finds you. Thank you, Tim!
Hi Michael and thanks for getting in touch. I’m delighted you’re enjoying the audios and I think Tom Zingerelli did a fantastic job with the narration. I regret the short answer to your question is no. The longer answer is that I badly want the last three books to be on audio, which means it probably will happen, just not soon. Sales of Human Legion had tailed off last year to the extent that if I had paid to have the audios produced and published them myself in 2017, then I would have been out of pocket. And the next few weeks for me are fully committed to tidying up a couple of novels for release. After that, the plan is simple: reinvigorate the sales by making the final book a success and have other popular books, and then reinvest that in finishing the Legion audios. Maybe I’ll manage to persuade Tantor (who publish the first the audios) to take the revised artwork. It may seem a very tortuous logic, but one of the reasons I’ve taken a little time out to write this Four Horsemen Universe novel for another publisher is to boost the popularity of the Legion books so I can justify making the audios (If I do produce them myself, it will be with professionals like Tom — it won’t be me sitting by a microphone!). Hope that answers your question. Best. Tim.
