My favorite book: The Forever War by Joe Haldeman is on a special offer on Amazon.com for $1.99. Unfortunately, it’s not on offer in the UK, and that probably means everywhere except the US.
I read a copy of The Forever War in my local library when I was about 14, and it had such a profound effect on me that… well, I now write science fiction novels for a living. It’s one of the classic military SF novels. Scandalously it was out of print for a long while, and I spent years chasing down a paperback copy. With the advent of eBooks, that shameful neglect of great literature should be a thing of the past.
