THE LEGION AWAKES
It's here! The new military science fiction adventure by JR Handley, set in the worlds of the Human Legion, explodes into action today with The Legion Awakes.
A century ago, all but two members of Lance Scipio’s unit were executed.
Now he is woken into a strange new time, and tasked with whipping into shape the worst squad of misfits in the entire Human Marine Corps.
THE PRICE OF FAILURE: DEATH!
2565AD. Tranquility-4 near the frontier of the White Knight Empire. Guided by mysterious orders, the authorities at the Human Marine Corps base of Beta City thaw Lance Scipio. In 2441, an entire Marine company was executed with the exception of Captain Grimgerde and Sergeant Lance Scipio, the usual punishment for running in the face of the enemy. But these two were preserved… as if they would be required in the future.
Scipio is not expected to escape execution for long, but he has been given a slim chance. For a Marine, a chance can be all that’s needed to change the fate of worlds…

It was a blast to write, hopefully people enjoy reading it! 🙂
Sir
Your books are Outstanding, I hope you continue for a very long time.
Thank you, you’re too kind sir! So you can be the first to know, my third novel OPERATION BREAKOUT goes to the editorial team on Monday to work its way through the wickets. You won’t have to wait long!
loving the legion awakes ,wanted to love the revenge squad as well but found it a bit of a grind ,witty with some good ideas in there ,it just felt a bit too much of accountants / I.T. at war,i’ll still read the next one and see where it’s going to ,keep up the great work
One hit and one miss. It could be worse 🙂 Appreciate you giving the feedback and persistence on Revenge Squad, Randy, and you’re not the only one to say that. The launch has been a disaster. I made the mistake of starting the series in the wrong place. Should have placed it further forward in time when the team were more settled and in their kick-ass stride. When you say it’s a bit of a grind, are you referring to both the Revenge Squad books (After War with the fire-orange cover, and Hurt U Back with the sea-blue one) or just the first one? The second one has the team much closer to the team being fully formed. That’s my intention, anyway. If you haven’t seen the second one yet, you can grab it as part of the welcome pack for joining the Legion (https://humanlegion.com/join-the-legion/ ). I’m considering downgrading After War to a prequel and putting Hurt U Back on sale as the book 1. But before I do that, I’m going to finish off the new novel, Second Strike, which doesn’t have an IT team, but does have a gambling den, killer robots, political assassinations, and an alien tea and singing ceremony that features ritual combat to the death. I’ve had a lot of fun writing it!
forgot to say,,i also think the artwork is stunning
Thanks. Several people have been kind enough to say the same thing with the Sleeping Legion books, and that’s great to hear because I know the covers make a big difference to a lot of people. I’ve been working on artwork over the past hour and have something to show in a post to the website. Interested in your opinion.
I agree, his art is amazing!!!
