Book Launch: The Final Sleeping Legion Novel

Fantastic news for Sleeping Legion fans: the final instalment of the series will be launched on Friday, 15th December. Author JR Handley — aided by the editing team of Lauren Moore, Thomas Weaver Spence, and Corey Truax – has delivered a corker of a conclusion. Alien allies with their own agenda, buried relics and ancient mysteries revealed, and the secrets of Cardamine island rooted out by the barrel of the Marines ordered in to take Kalino – even some surprises from the Rakasa system where Lance Scipio earned his stripes in The Demons of Kor-Lir: you’ll encounter all this and more in Insurgency: Spartika. And, as the title, suggests, the final instalment features the baddest bad-ass on Tranquility: Spartika. When we first met her, way back in Marine Cadet (the first Human Legion novel) she was bitter and beaten, but […]

You got your ears on, Sleeping Legion fans?

The Sleeping Legion will arrive in audio over the next couple of weeks! Demons of Kor-Lir and The Legion Awakes are published by Podium Publishing and narrated by Jeffrey Kafer (who narrated Earthrise by Daniel Arenson, the Frontiers Saga by Ryk Brown, Blood on the Stars by Jay Allan, The Empire’s Corps by Chris Nuttall, War Eternal by M.R. Forbes, Starship’s Mage by Glynn Stewart and a whole host of other cool books that I can’t be bothered to type up.) I’ve heard the recordings myself and they are very classy. Demons of Kor-Lir is the prequel novella, and Podium will be releasing that around August 27th exclusively through AudFans.com. Now, this is a new place to me, as a relative audio newbie, but is a great way for audio publishers to give away free introductory novellas and bonus stories. […]

For those in search of refreshment…

A sight for parched throats, following extensive personal testing I can attest that this device is suitable for coffee, whiskey, and coffee and whiskey. Other fluids to be used with this item at your own risk. A few diehard Legion crazies have been after swag for a long time now. I licensed all the images for this mug now, and I’ll be doing more. Best of all, now I have swag, I’ll be giving some away to random signed-up Legionaries every month. If you’re on the Legion books by the end of March, you’re in with a chance of  a mug guarded by Lance Scipio and his SA-71 carbine. You can always sign up for free here. If you can’t wait, you can pick up your own drink dispenser from Zazzle, which is cool because you can customize it. So if you […]

Welcome to Thomas, our new copy editor

Today I welcome Thomas Weaver to the Legion team. Thomas is currently sharpening his copy editor’s eyeballs in readiness to receive the third Sleeping Legion novel, Operation Breakout, which is already with developmental editor, Corey Truax. Welcome, Thomas, welcome. Thomas Weaver is a writer, editor, and blogger who got into professional editing almost by accident years ago when a gamer friend from university needed someone to copyedit a screenplay about giant stompy robots (mecha). Having discovered that he greatly enjoys this kind of work, he’s been putting his uncanny knack for grammar and punctuation, along with an eclectic mental collection of facts, to good use ever since as a Wielder of the Red Pen of Doom. Thomas is disabled and lives with his smugly good-looking twin brother Paul, who writes military science fiction and refuses to talk about his military […]
